Our childbirth class

Johnny and I started our childbirth class 3 weeks ago. There are 4 other couples in there with us. Last week we got a tour of the labor and delivery unit at the hospital. It eased my anxiety, just getting to see where I would be delivering and what would happen during labor. Our homework this week is to practice breathing exercises with a clothespin on our finger (to simulate the pain of contractions).

Random thoughts...

It's really starting to hit me that we have less than a month left until Levi arrives! I kept thinking that we had all this time to get the nursery ready and now that it is finally almost here, I'm starting to realize how much I still have to do! Our goal this week is to paint the nursery. Then we can start decorating with all the cute decor we got at the shower! I have been SO tired lately that it is hard for me to get the energy to get anything done. I just want to sleep all the time! I am really thankful though that I have had a smooth pregnancy so far. I know some of you would kill me for saying that I didn't have any morning sickness (especially those of you that had it all 9 months...sorry Jacquie!) It's hard to believe that next month at this time I will be a mommy.

Levi's baby shower

On Saturday we had our baby shower! The hostesses did an AMAZING job with all the decorations and food. You guys went above and beyond what we ever expected. Johnny and I just want to say thank you SO much to everyone who blessed us by helping us welcome baby Levi into the world. We were blown away and humbled by all of the gifts and everyone who came to celebrate with us. We love each of you and you have all played a big part in our lives.

Here are some pics from the shower.

Johnny's mom gave us this outfit that was Johnny's when he was a little boy! I can't wait to get Levi's picture taken in it and then put it beside a picture of his daddy in the same outfit.

Our latest sono

Yesterday I had an appointment with the specialist again to check Levi's kidneys. A few months ago when they did the sono at my dr's office they saw fluid in his kidneys. Johnny and I went to see the perinatal specialist a couple months ago and he confirmed that there was fluid there, but he said he didn't think it was anything to worry about and told us to come back in a few weeks. Well yesterday when we went back to have another sono, he said that all the fluid was gone and that everything looks great! Praise the Lord!

After he finished looking at the kidneys, I asked him if he could check one more time just to make sure that it IS a boy! Johnny and I have heard too many stories of people being told they were having one thing, yet coming home from the hospital with the opposite sex! Since Levi's whole room is a lodge theme with hunting and fishing accents, we would have a lot of redecorating to do! haha. Anyways, the doc confirmed that it DEFINATELY is a boy and he gave us a close-up picture to prove it! I won't post the pic on here though because Levi might get embarrassed :-)

As he was finishing up the sonogram, the dr. informed me that Levi is already 6 lbs.! He is in the 66th percentile and is expected to be about 8 or 9 lbs. at birth! Any doubts I had about getting an epidural are definately out the window now. Only 6 more weeks to go!
